SoCo Depot's "Project Here" photo

"Somewhere between your home and your community there's a door. Project Here is about opening it."
So says the website at www.projecthere.org. The project collected portraits of front doors and the people who go in and out of them each day.

This is SoCo Depot's front door portrait of everyone who was here Thursday, Sept. 11th at 4 p.m. Our photo will be part of the tapestry representing Petaluma's community which will be shown at Aqus Cafe tonight, Sept. 19th, from 6-8 p.m.

In our portrait L-R: artist Jerrie Jerne Morago, visiting from Riverfront Art Gallery to scope out our walls for an art show, Me (Nancy Sinsheimer) photographer Rosemarie Lion with her hands in the air, Vanessa Bauch and her little dog, too, and Anthony Tusler, SoCo Depot founder, er, "sparkplug" who brought us all together in the first place.

Top of the Fold-4 Column Photo!

The press seems to love SoCo Depot and coworking. This time the press is the Press Democrat. Yesterday, on the front page of the Business section there was an insightful story about the Depot and a photo that really showed the place.

And now Northbay Biz!

Yet another great story. This one is from the glossy mag, Northbay Biz. The Northbay Business Journal, the other story about us, is tabloid sized on newsprint.

Here's the Biz link: http://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&view=js&name=vjs&ver=UE6IqWB3PoU&am=R_E4pcTxMK_rXS0

Space Available

Well, we bid farewell to the Wheelerstreet programmers this week. We'll miss them—they were our young, high tech contingent.

But on the up side that means there is space available at the Depot for new coworkers. If you've been thinking about joining the coworking movement and getting out of the home/Starbucks office space and into a collegial workspace let us know.

Open House was Great

The open house we had on August 7 was great. There were somewhere around 75 people who came through. The food was wonderful and the space has never, ever looked better.

If you missed the party come by and see how the place looks with art on the walls and everything spiffed up.

First SoCo Open House

What a great party! The open house was really fun. Lots of folks stopped by and everyone seemed to dig the space (it's fabulous and we feel really lucky to have it) and the concept.

Thanks to everyone who came-- and stay tuned. We've got some great ideas for other parties, speakers, and events.

KRCB-blog and audio feed

Bruce Robinson's Northbay Report on SoCo Depot aired this morning. You can find photos of our space and an audio feed of the piece.

I think SoCo Depot came off pretty well, if I do say so myself.

KRCB Interview Friday

Bruce Robinson of KRCB came by and interviewed Anthony and Paul for a five minute spot on KRCB.

Check it out.

TONIGHT!

It's here! Our Open House is tonight, Thursday, August 7.

Come by between 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm to meet the coworkers, see the space (it looks really good), eat some canapes, and have a good time.

Look for the red balloons.

See you tonight.

It's a Party!

It's official-- we're ready to receive the public and show them what we've been up to. On August 7th we'll have our first Open House. Good thing I got in on the ground floor, as there's been lots of folks expressing an interest when I invite them.

Tuesday, 4:48 Coworking Thought

So it turns out coworking still means I have to do my own work. Other than that, it's a fabulous thing. Got a couple of others typing here alongside me, some banter and chit chat every once in a while, and a cool breeze blowing in from the funky barn door. Perfect (except for the doing my own work thing).

We're down to 8

As of yesterday there are eight members at SoCo Depot. Lisa and David have had to leave us. It's a little lonely around here, which means we've got space for more.

We also have a new class of member, what we're informally calling a floater. They pay $100 a month and work at any of the communal tables.

Penngrove 4th of July Parade

Don't forget that this week Penngrove celebrates the Fourth of July. Saturday is the Pancake Breakfast and Sunday is the 11:00 parade down Main St. It's too fun.

Welcome to the SoCo Depot

This is a blog with news, info, and insights into coworking, the Depot, downtown Penngrove, and whatever else makes sense to the members.
